A chilly breeze tightens the skin

An unseen fireplace tingles the nose

Creaking and groaning above the laughter

The giant Ferris Wheel  slowly stops

Youngsters, parents, teenage friends

Exit, scatter to do it again

Some alone, some in twos

An elderly couple hold hands

Enchanted by the view of the distant land

“Have you ever seen anything oh so grand”

The mountains, the valleys, the fiery trees

The far off cathedral, the golden steeple

It reminds me of home

The land where I was born

Sadly from the ground

I can see it no more

Lucky are those who can return

To the place from which they were born

So they can see from the ground

The place they call home

Where a chilly breeze tightens the skin

A fireplace tingles the nose
