The Auction

Four black shutters

Meticulously installed

One year ago

Frame two windows

In the small white

Aluminum sided house

That was my home

Yesterday

Furniture crushes blades

Of grass grown from seed

As bidders tangle

Critiquing chairs and

Now empty picture frames

Plotting to pay little

For my life
